Family Fun at the Historic Town – February Half Term (14th–22nd February 2026)
Step back in time and explore the fascinating history of health, from the Victorian era to the Swinging Sixties.
Meet costumed historic characters including a 1960s midwife, night soil man, milkman, health visitor and Girl Guide Captain, and discover the unusual cures, health regimes and everyday challenges of the past.
Families can follow a themed trail, take part in mothercraft activities, old-fashioned school drills, dance sessions, first aid practice, street games and road safety challenges.
Alongside the half-term programme, visitors can enjoy the museum’s 31 acres of attractions, including vintage transport rides, live industrial demonstrations, historic food and drink outlets, a silent Laurel & Hardy film, and traditional fairground fun.
