Gothic Illustration Course

Dive into the world of Gothic art and explore the grotesque side of nature with this eerie and creative drawing course! Influenced by macabre art, this course invites participants to add a ghastly touch to their illustrations, embracing the darker elements of nature. Using charcoals, ink, and acrylic paint, participants will create a triptych of Gothic-themed illustrations inspired by the spirit of Halloween. Learn to tint paper, work from historic images, and experiment with different art techniques to bring moody still lifes, gory portraits, and mythical creatures to life. It’s all about finding beauty in unexpected, eerie places!

Who is it for?
Ideal for young artists aged 12 to 17, this course welcomes all skill levels—no experience is needed. A learning support worker is available, and all staff are DBS-checked. Parents are not required to attend, but a parent or companion may join if needed, with a complimentary ticket. The venue is wheelchair-accessible, and specific access needs can be discussed in advance.
