Make Your Own Horror Film Workshop

This two-day camp invites young people to draw inspiration from Halloween and create their own short horror film. Participants will learn the essentials of horror movie storytelling, with a focus on the found footage and webcam horror subgenres, inspired by films like The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity. Working in groups, they will engage in writing, acting, and filming to produce their short horror film, using MAC and its surroundings as their setting. The course covers scriptwriting, production, and editing, and participants will receive a copy of their film after the course.

Who is it for?
Designed for young people aged 12 to 17, the course welcomes all skill levels, with no prior experience required. A learning support worker is provided, and all staff are DBS checked. Parents are not required to attend, though a parent or companion may accompany a child if needed, with a complimentary ticket. The course is accessible to children of all abilities, and the room is wheelchair accessible.

What to bring?
All materials and equipment are provided. Participants may bring props or costumes for day two. Lunch is not provided, so children should bring their own meal for the supervised one-hour break.

The course is led by Cassiah Joski-Jethi, an award-winning writer and director for stage and screen.
