Ikon Gallery presents Workshop of the World, a vibrant exhibition celebrating the creativity of over 800 children from 16 regional primary schools. This showcase features large-scale collaborative artworks created during a year-long project delivered in partnership with the Creative Connections consortium, Ikon’s Education team and local artist educators.

Throughout the 2024/25 academic year, pupils explored Birmingham’s rich industrial heritage and its links to the Arts and Crafts movement through hands-on sessions in printmaking, textiles, metalwork and ceramics. Each group visited Ikon Gallery for inspiration before taking part in a series of workshops with an artist in their own classrooms. The resulting artworks, displayed in this exhibition, will be returned to schools as permanent installations.
